非常勤取締役の小野による、杉本社長のエピソードです。（1/3）
より会社を発展させるために
和コーポレーション非常勤取締役の小野です。ここでは、いつもの YAMATO 通信とは趣
向を変えて、私が、杉本社長とお会いしたときの思い出を少し記載させていただきたいと思
います。
自己紹介になりますが、私は、和コーポレーションの株主であるアイ・シグマ事業支援ファ
ンド 3 号を運営しているアイ・シグマ・キャピタル株式会社からの派遣役員になります。
沿革にもあります通り、アイ・シグマ事業支援ファンド 3 号による資本参加は 2019 年 8 月
ですが、はじめて杉本社長と会いましたのは、そこから遡ること 1 年前程度前になります。
第一印象としては、眼光鋭く強面の方だなと身構えたことを覚えていますが（笑）、話し始
めるうちに、会社の行く末のこと、事業展開について、また従業員や地域への思いについて
並々ならぬ想いをお持ちであることがすぐにわかりました。
顧客のニーズに応えるべく、高品質へのこだわりや短納期での対応力への自負を感じ取る
ことができました。また、常に進歩することが必要であり、そのために新たな設備投資を積
極的に進める必要があることを伺いました。
工場見学もさせていただき、これだけの設備を短期間に集め、必ずしもベテランの職人のみ
に頼らず、比較的平均年齢が若いながらも巧みに機械を操り、精巧な加工を進めるところを
目の当たりして、感嘆の声を上げたところ、いつものような冷静な表情から、少しではあり
ますが相好を崩されていたこと懐かしく思い出します。
そこから早いもので数年間経ちましたが、社長と我々とのきずなはより深いものとなって
います。より会社を発展させるように経営陣一同より尽力していきたいと思います。

I am Ono, a External-executive board member of YAMATO Corporation. Here, unlike the usual YAMATO News letters , I would like to write a little about my memories when I met President Sugimoto .
“As a self-introduction, I am an appointed officer from iSigma Capital Co., Ltd., which operates the “”i-Sigma Business Support Fund No.3″”, a shareholder of YAMATO Corporation.

As stated in our company history, iSigma’s capital participation through the iSigma Business Support Fund No.3 took place in August 2019. However, I first met President Sugimoto approximately a year before that. My initial impression was that he had a sharp and imposing gaze, which made me a bit cautious at first (laughs). However, as we started talking, it became evident that he had a strong dedication to the future of the company, business expansion, and a deep concern for employees and the local community.
I could sense his commitment to meeting customer needs with a focus on high quality and quick response times. He emphasized the necessity of constant progress and the proactive investment in new facilities to achieve that.
During the factory tour, I was impressed by how quickly they had gathered such a range of equipment and how skillfully they operated the machines to achieve precise processing, despite the relatively young average age of the workforce. I remember being taken aback when President Sugimoto, known for his calm demeanor, showed a slightly more relaxed expression upon hearing our admiration.
Several years have passed since then, and the bond between the President and us has deepened. We, the management team, will continue to exert our utmost efforts to further develop the company.
